Washington High School Students Hosts Outreach Fair in Recognition of Youth Violence Prevention Week

On May 1, 2026, Washington High School hosted its “Enough is Enough” Community Outreach Fair in recognition of Youth Violence Prevention Week.

The event brought together students, families, educators, and community partners in a united stand for safer schools and stronger communities.
Through open dialogue, shared resources, and meaningful connection, the fair emphasized that every young person deserves to feel seen, valued, supported, and safe.
Attendees participated in interactive activities and took advantage of resources focused on critical issues affecting today’s youth, including anti-vaping awareness and cyberbullying prevention.

Students and families also engaged in an open community police Q&A session that encouraged trust, dialogue, and understanding between youth and local law enforcement.
The event included food and music, creating a welcoming environment that reinforced the shared commitment to preventing youth violence and supporting the well-being of all students.

National Youth Violence Prevention Week is observed from April 20–24, and focuses on empowering youth to lead in creating safer schools and communities.
The week-long campaign encourages action against violence through daily themes, promoting prevention strategies, and highlighting the role of "Upstanders" in stopping violence.
