Washington High School Football Coach Named "Coach of the Week" by the Kansas City Chiefs

For the third time in his high school coaching career, Coach Camron Smith has been awarded the Coach of the Week honor by the Kansas City Chiefs.
On Wednesday, October 8, former Chiefs great Gary Spani presented Smith with the honor on the Wildcat’s home football field.

The High School Coach of the Week award is a joint initiative of the Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League.
The program is designed to recognize and reward Kansas City area high school coaches for their excellent performance every week while honoring individuals who are shaping today's youth and tomorrow's leaders.
As part of their recognition, Coach Smith received a $500 grant from the Hunt Family Foundation, a Chiefs bucket hat, a certificate of recognition and a custom game ball.

He also qualifies for the Eric Driskell Coach of the Year Award, which is selected at the end of the high school regular season by a panel from the Missouri and Kansas Boards of the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association.
Smith is in his sixth season as head coach for his alma mater and is off to his first ever 5-0 start.
Congratulations, Coach Smith.
